Pink Fairies Roundhouse July 13th 1975

Posted by admin on Jul 25, 2010

Pink Fairies second Roundhouse reunion of 1975 – July 13th. The bill featured Pink Fairies, Stray, Radar Favourites and DJ Andy Dunkley. Pink Fairies line-up consisted of John ‘Twink’ Alder, Russell Hunter, Paul Rudolph, Duncan ‘Sandy’ Sanderson, and Larry Wallis. The original footage has been around for some years but the quality has obviously deteriorated having been transferred onto VHS at some point and finally digitalised.* The soundtracks are not synchronised with the film footage although they do derive from the relevant performances. * Tony Davdison (Tonal) out of Pink Fairies covers band Pink FA has shed light on the provenance of the footage – “the video you have on myspace was shot on 8mm by Geoff Eade,He showed me it in 1978 when I joined his band the infamous Drag Squad who released the equally infamous ‘Operation Julie’ 7″ single.a singer very much in the Farren mould. In 1992 I remember this & for the reason of social history I get my mate to transfer it to video……Geoff & I thought of getting someone to put it out….UFO of Hanway Street came to mind as they had just released ‘Syd’s First Trip’….also silent….of course nowt could be done…so my mate Richard Clarke fronts the money & it sells about 10 copies!!………”

I remember seeing UFO at the Greyhound pub in Fulham Palace Road in the early 70’s … we were living in great
times then and we did’nt realise it did we.

Did anyone here ever go to the Three Fishes and the Two Brewers in Kingston.

I remember going into the car park to have a joint where i met a young hippy-chick and i shared it with her… after we had casual sex behind a car and then went our seperate ways without even exchanging names. This act did’nt seem dirty at the time… it was beautiful… i loved the 70’s i’m going to cry.

I was here. Third day up on Whizz…
I remember Larry Wallis keeping on saying “Turn the fuckin white lights out!!!!”
1975. It was end to end good gigs. Good
chemicals at good prices. Was this the start of tha Pinks Farewell concerts?
Loved the Roundhouse, then. Down to Camden Market (was still just about a Head place) then up to the gig. Bout five bands on. Upp, I think were on earlier.

Hi,
My name is Mark and I used to be the drummer with Clemen Pull and we played at the Jolly Brewer in Kingston and the Greyhound pub in Fulham Palace Road.

Hi mate
From what i remember not many bands played the Jolly Brewers as it was too small so i must have watched your band. We used to stay in the brewers and then go to the Fishes for last knockings.

In those days there used to be a bit of snobbery surrounding the Fishes so it was only until the Jolly Brewers shut that we jumped ship to the Fishes perminantly. Do you remember a guy called Lemmy with long black hair and Indian Jim. I miss those days so much, even when the Jokers invaded the pub. Keep in touch with your memories mate and thanks for replying.

We used to go there about once a week. Looked out for it when have driven through kingston since but it has either gone or am looking in the wrong place. didn’t they change the name to the royal charter in the late 70’s went there one night and it was all different?
Saw the pinks a lot in the mid 70’s, excelent band.

No mate you were looking in the right place but they knocked it down and the original site in now part of the one way system; it’s just before the train bridge and opposie a bingo hall…there is a pub called the Artful Dodger close by. Do you remember Irish Paul and Indian Jim or the twins. I remember a bloke who looked a lot like Lemmy so we called him Lemmy, nice feller.

Wasn’t Dave Spinks was it ? (Lemmy) as he roadied for Hawkwind in those days. I was a regular at the Jolly Brewers with my bestest mate Birty (Burt) Wirty. Barred from the 3 Fishes ‘cos I was always stoned on something or other. I’m Paddy…….That was 30 plus years ago Dudes !!
